hey, my name's shelby, and i started learning how to do some hacking about month and a half ago, i know a little, all the basics pretty much. i tried using brutus aet, and i couldn't use it right, because, yes, i'm new [noob] and didn't know what to put in all of the fields.
i want to be a skilled hacker for 2 reasons, the bad part, and then there's the good part, i want to get into internet security, in the military, or whatever it would be called in there, and i'm just learning now , because i want to have some experience to show for when i go, that way i'm not gettin shot by some dude in iraq
so could anyone please help me? i more so would like a friend to do it with that knows a little more than me, that way we can both learn at the same time, but a mentor is okay too =)

ok straight to the point: this shows virtually no knowledge, and that you started off as a skid, nobody will be your mentor when you don't know anything at all

ok dude are you serious ? well you can keep dreaming....

Good luck with that. First get at least a little tiny bit of the knowledge, then you might find somebody to learn with, but generally here the most of the time you have to find information and absorb it on your own

Well, I've tried teaching people when they knew little to nothing on the subject, it isn't too fun...
You should start by learning HTML, javascblockedript and other programming languages here
www.w3schools.com
Once you learn some stuff there, come to me, I'll try to help you out.
Another good place is,
http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/
But since you're just starting, stick with www.w3schools.com
Also, many members here are nice and helpful, have a question? post it in the forums/PM them.
But try to do some research on your own first....

Also, remember that google is your best friend. On top of that, remember not to let people scare you off. Just make sure you do lots of research before posting and then they can't say anything. They're just trying to protect the community from retarded scblockedript kiddies . |

Umm... wow. I could flame but, no... that's just sad.
There's nothing there for a mentor to start with. The main thing that I can discern from your post is that you are unaware of how to help yourself. For that reason, you need to do more challenges here. As you find yourself stuck on one of them, you need to refrain from posting in the forums and, instead, either read up in the forums or read up on the terms you find in the forums pertaining to that challenge. This will teach you how to rationalize when and how to ask for help... not to mention, you'll be learning a bit more about the terms in the field, instead of saying "the good" and "the bad".
Also, you'll want to choose a programming/scblockedripting language to learn. If you don't know HTML, start with that. Move into Javascblockedript and get a freehost so you can test your skills. Come back to the forums once you're at least proficient in those.

Any recommendations on freehosting? I understand that not all "freehosts" are actually free. Some are just plain shitty.

Html and Javascblockedript, Freewebs.com
PHP, freehostia, 6te.net. Take your pick.

Okay, well military isn't such a bad thing. Other than the fact we deter peace, however war is inevitable. I thought about the air force myself. Gathering intel, what ever.
Well heres we are going to start with you because welll... I agree on not seeing common knowledge, or that fact you cant use a GUI such as Brutus.
Learning HTML is extremely easy, if you are going to learn a language start with it because you will learn about tags and attribute, etc...
We need a less general idea of what you want to learn. Password cracking, Brutus, doesn't mean anything. The only thing that will do is send thousands of login requests to a site and have authorities knocking at your door. That's why it is good your younger than 18. Nonetheless the law suit.
First things first for going into the military, don't do anything illeagle. It all comes back around. Hence "Karma".

Same here, I almost joined the airforce, and my ASVAB score was through the roof. But anyone with a brain could ace that test, , but
I decided it wasn't the best choice at the time.

IM/PM/E-Mail me if you need help with starting, I may not be too good at "Hacking", but I can try to help.
That is, as long as you're willing to try to learn...

Yeah, shes willing to learn. I spoke to her on aim. The only, major, problem was that she asked the importance of research on a vic....
That's all I had to say, so I switched the topic. Lol.
Perhaps we should redirect her mentor-ship to the irc.

That's a bit sexist dude. And people wonder why there aren't many girls frequenting this type of forums.
